As rhythm guitarist for GCJ, Zapata became interested in music when he first saw Jimi Hendrix on TV as a child, and began to mimic him.

Influenced by the sounds of growing up in Texas he has cultivated an original style of playing Blues Rock. While performing he draws from different genres, creating a musical rollercoaster for the audience.
